Hornet Online Learning 101: Leveraging Collaboration and the Power of the CSU

Building on work by Humboldt State and CSU Channel Islands, an agile Sac State team from Student Affairs, First Year Programs, Academic Technology, and the Center for Teaching and Learning, customized and launched a "Hornet Learning Online 101" course in less than 2 weeks, just in time for the Fall 2020 remote teaching semester. "Hornet Learning Online 101" is a one hour online tutorial on topics including growth mindset, active learning strategies, Canvas navigation skills, and remote student support resources. Two weeks into the Fall 2020 semester, the course has enrolled more than 3100 students and received positive reviews. Data from the course including student online readiness, motivation, and specific knowledge and skills learned from the course will be presented.
