The Data Science Education Program has a vision to create pedagogical opportunities for all students to experience data science approaches within existing classes. The UC Berkeley Data hub is an open-source, cloud-based computing resource that makes computing accessible to all students. This tool and approach are especially adaptable and useful for online learning. The platform is currently used to introduce computation in core classes in Data Science, as well as Data Science Modules in a wide range of classes in other disciplines. The UC Berkelely Jupyterhub has 5 years of experience teaching thousands of students in dozens of classes each semester. UC Berkeley has a wide array of open-source data science curriculum and pedagogical tools being adopted across California.
