The Quality Matters approach to quality matters has long dominated course design in higher education, but it is complex, time- and resource-intensive; it requires a tremendous commitment from faculty and administration; and it can be perceived as intrusive and punishing to those subjected to review. UC Santa Cruz Online Education has developed an approach to quality assurance in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses that is fast, inexpensive, and highly effective. In this presentation, we describe the rationale, procedures, and outcomes of this approach.
